The Norwalk Police Department provides fingerprinting services for bona fide permanent Norwalk Residents ONLY for any reason OR only for Non-Residents that require fingerprinting as a condition of employment with a Norwalk company with a company letter or their business is located in Norwalk and requires a license. A Non-Resident property owner or business owner are not eligible. You MUST present a valid State of Connecticut driver license or Identification Card with a Norwalk address. If you have moved to Norwalk, please follow all State DMV laws and properly change your address with them. ALL fingerprinting is conducted by Online Appointment ONLY, No walk-in appointments accepted. See the Steps below to be fingerprinted. The State of CT has implemented a new procedure for fingerprinting that requires an Online Pre-Enrollment with the Connecticut Criminal History Request System (CCHRS) and a Service Code. NO SERVICE CODE IS REQUIRED FOR OUT OF STATE OR IMMIGRATION REQUESTS – SKIP TO STEP 3. SEE ** BELOW FOR EXAMPLES.
STEP 1 - You MUST first go to the State of CT CCHRS site – http://ct.flexcheck.us.idemia.io/cchrspreenroll (CLICK on LINK) and enter your appropriate SERVICE CODE for your fingerprinting reason.
This SERVICE CODE will be provided by whomever is requiring you to get fingerprinted for a background check or License/Permit. The SERVICE CODE is specific to each Town/City or Employer.

* Service Codes – are issued by the CT Employer or CT Agency that is requiring you to be fingerprinted for a background check. Ask them for the Code.
** NO SERVICE CODE or CCHRS Pre-Enrollment Registration is needed if: you need to get fingerprinted for a Non-Connecticut - OUT OF STATE Agency OR FBI FINGERPRINT CARDS such as IMMIGRATION and you are taking the fingerprint cards with you to be mailed to another State. Examples would be… Out of State Insurance/Finance/Nursing/Medical Licenses; Immigration; or Out of State Pistol permits. You still MUST be a Norwalk Resident to be printed.
STEP 2 - Confirm Service Code reason and then enter your required information and pay the required State and Federal fees.
You will then receive an Applicant Transaction Number (ATN) – Print out this transaction number and you MUST bring it to be fingerprinted
WE CANNOT FINGERPRINT YOU WITHOUT THE APPLICATION TRANSACTION NUMBER – YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY!

**Note: When booking, you will receive an email from Norwalk Online Appointment". You must click on the blue "CONFIRM" to lock in the appointment or it will be purged. If a month has no appointment times showing - click NEXT MONTH on the top right of calendar.
Massage Therapist Instructions
FINGERPRINTING HOURS:
TUESDAY: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm & 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm
WEDNESDAY: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm & 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm
** Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment start time so your paperwork can be checked. The appointment starts at the beginning time of the appointment slot. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your appointment, you will not be fingerprinted as your lateness will interfere with the next appointment slot.
LOCATION: 1 Monroe Street – Front Lobby of Norwalk Police Headquarters. Go left to Records Unit window.
FEES: $15 per person on the Livescan or $15 for up to 2 fingerprint cards. Then, $5 for each additional card.
PAYMENT ACCEPTED: CASH or DEBIT CARD or MONEY ORDER to: "City of Norwalk".
BAD WEATHER POLICY: If fingerprinting is canceled due to weather or an emergency, you will receive an email notification. Your booked appointment will be automatically moved to the next available day in the same week (most likely Thursday) for the same time slot and you will receive a Confirmation email for the new appointment.
