Variance Application & Guidelines

Please read these guidelines prior to filling out the variance application form for the Zoning Board of Appeals.

A complete variance application includes:
  • Complete accurately and answer all blanks and questions. Including,
      • Exact setback dimensions, as applicable, specified in the space provided for the third question
      • Exact zoning sections stated in the space provided for the first question
  • Eleven (11) copies each of:
    • Class A-2 survey with applicable information
    • Completed application form, all collated together and each with its own set of applicable drawings, surveys, and etc. (all exhibits must be folded to approximately 8.5" by 11" size)
    • Dimensioned, scaled floor plan and elevation general arrangement drawings of existing and proposed construction, as applicable
  • Submit all documentary evidence in support of the application no fewer than 10 days prior to the day of the hearing or any reconvening thereof.
  • Submit the correct fee with the application. All fees are on the application and include a $60 State of Connecticut land use fee as per P.A. 03-6.
  • Type all applications. The same requirement applies to any supplementary information (schedules for narrative accounts to be submitted).
