DPW Permits

The Department of Public Works Permit Division oversees a number of permits issued by the City of Norwalk. For information on all permits issued by the Department of Public Works, including fees, applications, and or supporting documents needed, where applicable, click the links below. 

If you would like to schedule an appointment, inspection or have any questions please contact DPWPermits@NorwalkCT.org, call (203) 854-4161 or visit our City of Norwalk - Click & Request. Please provide 24-hour’s notice to guarantee an inspection.

If you are planning any construction projects, please plan a minimum of two (2) weeks for completion of your application; plan review and issuance of the permit for most construction jobs.

 

Permit Division will work with walk-in customers only during the following times:
Monday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Tuesday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Wednesday: No Walk-in Hours
Thursday: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Friday: No Walk-in Hours
